Like a week or whatever ago I posted about Porsche 944 with LS1 for first track/street car. But an E30 with a 302 is a more cost effective option. And an E30 is the car I longed for in high school. Granted none of this will happen until I get back from the desert vacation Uncle Sam is sending me on. But I can’t help but think about it and I’ve had some Jim Beam. Slainte

I can get on board with that. I drove e21's for years because, well. I could afford an e21 easier than. I could an e30.

My personal vehicular journey started in air cooled VWs and is currently in JDM 4wd diesel machines. But I got my start watching y dad wrench on his 65 mustang.

“Any boy can build a Chevy. It takes a real man to build a Ford.” Was something I heard often.

“Don’t know where I went wrong...” Was another thing he’d often say  when I’d tell him how cool my current Euro object of obsession was...

The build is well documented at this point. Engines and parts are plentiful/cheap and the only bit I’d need fabricated by someone else is the exhaust and driveshaft . I’m also not trying to make that much power so I won’t be blowing apart driveline components.

about face and walk back to the light side. I know those engines can make power but I wouldn’t swap a GM V6 into my worse enemy’s cars.

I know! But....but....perfect balance, and with a little turbo....can run low 11's!

Im thinking Lemmons now...

I think the 302 with aluminum heads(which is something I’d definitely do) is basically the same or lighter than the stock engine. I’ll also be losing a lot of weight from PS, HVAC, radio, interior removal.

Forgive the un-enlightened here, but are you going with a pushrod 302 or a coyote?

Will be traditional old pushrod 5.0. Don’t think a Coyote would even fit and obviously WAYYY more expensive. I’m not trying to make big internet points power.

That’s kind of what I was wondering. I figured the pushrod for the fit alone, but I wanted to double check. If it was the coyote, I was going to suggest the completely unreasonable and ridiculously awesome  suggestion of a Voodoo swap, but that’s kind of a moot point now.

Of if I had that ability I’d go Voodoo. But the car is going to absolutely rip regardless
